Like when you fly within the US. I'm thinking of buying a ticket and fly to Chicago for a visit because of Thanksgiving. I've never flew before, just wanna know. |

Your driver's license or state issued identification should suffice. If you order your ticket with a credit card, they will often ask that you present the same card used at the ticket desk also.
...buying the ticket and getting the ticket is the part that hasn't really changed. The 'big deal' is when you're boarding. You'll want to get on the airport's website before you go to see any current regulations for carry-on items. Currently they will not allow many things such as liquids (bottled water or soda, hair spray, many medications though they have some allowances for insulin, etc...). Definately be sure and look at that so that you're aware ahead of time. |

A picture ID is needed, either a drivers license or state issued ID will do. Be sure your name on the ticket matches the name on your ID, that is if your licence reads Edward Smith, dont have the ticket issued as Eddy Smith.Have a great flight! |

If you are a US citizen you must show a valid government issued ID inorder to travel. Acceptable ID = driver's license, military ID or passport.
If you are not a US citizen you will be required to show a valid passport, plus any reseident alien documentation if you reside in the US. |
