A round trip is two segments (one take off and one landing) consisting of two city pairs that you travel between on one itinerary.

For example Honolulu to Newark and Newark back to Honolulu.

Square Pants
its mean you buy two ticket for being there(destination) and coming back home with the same airlines...

despardesh

Theres 5 different types of travel, including round trip.
One way is a ticket bought from point A to point B.
Round trip is a ticket bought from point A to point B and back to point A.
Circle trip is a ticket bought from point A to point B to point C and then back to point A (multiple destinations booked on the same itinerary).
Open-Jaw and Open-Jaw with side trip include travel other than air, like from point A to point B to point C by air and point C back to point A by ground -or- point A to point B to point C by air and point C to point D and back to point A by ground (open-jaw with side trip includes 2 or more destinations traveled to by ground rather than air but on the same itinerary).

Michelle B
going to your destination and back to where your started.

For instance...I start in Atlanta, go to chicago, fly back home to atlanta...that's a round trip.

Shannie G
It means that a round-trip ticket will cover the trip to and from your destination.
