What is the best thing do when the person in front of you on an airplane recline their seat ?

They recline their seat right back in your face and I must admit I cannot see myself asking them to straighten it up again! What counter measures can you take to prevent someone doing this? I was on a 757 3+3 seating today with people in the A & C seats when the women in front of me reclined the A & B seats and curled up over the two seats damned near preventing me moving! If I'd called the stewardess she would have thought I was a case of 'air rage'. What do you do????

I gave you a star for this because it is interesting. All i did this year on the way back from benidorm on the thomson flight, was i got really angry and commented to my partner extra louder that i couldn't move my damn knees because of the seat in front. The women turned around and because i was that 'pissed off' i said could you please put your seat back up because i cannot move my legs. She wasn't happy but i was entitled to be as comfortable as possible on that flight as her.

I just suggest you politely just ask them and if they don't listen call a stewardess

WHAT !!!!! all these answeres are amusing...are all of you so immature or just joking....hmmmm...makes me wonder...
Look be nice...ask politly. you might be amazed at how far kindness and a smile will take you. Explain that you are very unconfortable and turn the blame to the airlines for making such cramped seating... this will go a long way to form a cooperation between the two of you.......you must remember that the person also feels cramped...they are probally not intentionally trying to annoy you. Try suggesting swapping seats so you can both endure the flight in confort. wow man, no wonder we have wars all over the world with the "quick to fight attitude" even over a few minutes of disconfort. Whew.... I have taken hundreds of flights, some good, most bad...it's common knowledge about cramped seating...unless you can afford First Class...well, as they say, you get what you pay for....so just chill...your life is not over.

Live with it.

Ask for another seat or upgrade to first or business class. They paid a good fare just like you and each of you have as much right to recline as the other.

MadMan

There is nothing that you can do. They have the right to recline their seats back, as do you.

recline

Recline your seat as well. Don't make a fuss about it. You can't expect a lot of comfort in an economy class. Try to make the best of everything, you're not gonna sit there forever.

alan m
Dont you also do the same thing when you recline and affect person behind. ? Just recline. Its normal. You have enough room.

It is their right to recline the seat so live with it. If it bothers you that much pay for an upgrade or choose a bulkhead seat.

To those who suggest f**ting, God forbid! We'll all suffer from that! Do whatever you can, even jumping off the plane, but DON'T F**T. That's the worst thing one has to endure on a flight. Oh man. F**t when you get home.

Just call the stewardess though. You have the rights!

haha kick her seat, and if she looks, start to whistle.

Just lean back your own seat to avoid a nervous confrontation. Why do they make the seats able to recline so far sounds stupid. Dam politely ask them to "sit up a little bit as you are crushing me" lol

You could recline back too. But then you will cause this exact problem to the people behind you.

Try bumping or kicking there seat every few minutes. If its a long ride, trust me, they will get up.

You could ask the stewardess to make them move there head.

My favorite though that i have actually did...dump a glass of water "accidentally" on there head.

One last suggestion..***** up a storm and get first class seats ;D

Ashley Y
I would kick their seat until they unreclined
or punching them is the fastest way to get their attention

fart.

Kewl_Prez
You might try to fart. Maybe if the person in front of you smelled a fart (or, even if they THOUGHT they did), they wouldn't be so hasty to try to lay their head in your lap.

Jonny D
start praying to allah and use the words jihad and infidels in every sentence that will get them to sit upright haha

Mint M
make a big complain so they can upgrade your seat
