Check kayak.com for fares. There's lots of US and European airlines that will offer connecting service. However, during the summer, your unlikely to find anything much less than $1000 roundtrip. However, after September/October timeframe, you should be able to find discounted fares in the $500-$600 range (depending on the dates and where in the US you are going).

I have researched this extensively! The cheapest I found were via Schiphol Airport's website -- there is a travel agent link there, and the "FlyBudget" flights are sold off cheaply. But, you have to be extremely flexible to get those. Also, Martinair's last-minute fares to Florida are usually about 200€ rtn.
KLM or Northwest, both have a hub in Amsterdam. however, Northwest Airlines is a US based carrier... I would go with them
.com
I'm pretty sure hopping on a boat and hanging out in the bottom
but if you want to fly nwa (northwest airlines) hubs in MSP (Minneapolis/st Paul) and AMS (Amsterdam) so u will definitely get a cheep direct flight
oh ya and nwa flys just about everywhere from MSP
and the planes they fly are all new and sure to give you a fun smooth quiet ride
have fun
