The absolute minimum age for flying alone on major airlines in 5 years old. Passengers who are ages 5-14 and are flying alone (without a companion who is at least 15 years of age) are considered Unaccompanied Minors (UM's). Passengers whose ages range from 15-17 are considered Young Adults and do not have to use the UM service, but can if they would like to.
Rules about which routes UM's can fly vary depending on the airline.

That depends on the airline. Each airline has its own rules regarding "UMs" (unaccompanied minors) depending on the number of stops, length of flights, etc. Some airlines will allow children to travel unaccompanied as young as age 5, particualrly if it's a non-stop flight. Check with the different airlines that fly the routes you're interested in for their rules and, of course, expect to pay a surcharge for this service.

Itz almost EGG!
any child can travel by plane. But unacompanied is about 8.

Airlines prefer it to be atleast 2 months because that is considered a safe period of air travel. Infants ear drums are not well developed and they can face a lot of hardships during air travel because of the cabin and air pressure.

After 2 months - while you take off and land the child should be either breast fed or bottle fed to avoid ear pain.

Unaccompanied children should be atleast 5 years of age, should be able to talk and communicate i.e. why. However it depends on the parents how comfortable they are air travel.

There is no age specified for the child travel if the child is accompanied by the parent . For unaccompanied travel it varies from carrier to carrier, how ever generally it is 8 years

All airlines have a policy for unaccompanied minors. Call the airlines and ask. They all vary. 5yrs is very young to fly alone. It usually starts at 8yrs. Otherwise, Id say 10-12yrs is a better age to travel alone on a plane. There usually is only a fee when a plane change is involved. Also, The party dropping off the minor has to provide: photo ID, address and ph# and same with the party picking up the minor.

I really don't know. But when I was a little kid (like one or two) my parents flew me from New York to Virginia. So, it really depends on the age of the child and how they take to flying.

Do you mean unaccompanied? I think it's 8.

If it is not unaccompanied then you can travel at any age.

there are no restrictions of age for flight travel

When the child travels along with parents or guardians, age is no matter. Health conditions only count.
