What is the safest part of plane ?

I know that the wing section is the strongest but i also know that that is where the fuel is stored. So im wondering if its better to sit at the front or back or wings and also are window seats or aisle seats are better?
Additional Details
I dont know if this is correct but i always feel safer on the aisle seat and close to the front of the plane. This way i feel that i have a greater chance of getting out if we crash

Morbid thoughts...

There isn't really a "safe" part of a plane; I would imagine that where the survivors are depends on how a plane crashes. Like someone already said, if you're going straight into a mountain then back might be better, unless the pilot tries to pull out and whacks some other part of the plane.
If the tail hits something or comes off for some other reason, front is better. If a plane were to rip in half, then middle is out and either front or back would be better.

If you feel safer in the front aisle then get seats there! If it really worries you, there's always cars or boats...

They always say the back of the plane is the safest. God forbid if the plane is going to crash which it wont happen the plane will nose dive first from the front. Also the blackbox is at the back of the plane.

well you cant really say if its crashing and you want to die 1st sit in the front
if you want to die last go to the back because if your crashing your probably going to die regardless of where you are in the plane

jackie
i remember hearing about this on t.v. but they said the planes strongest part is near the wing... i dont remeber y the reason was they said but yea...

i suppose logically the back would appear to be the safest, as its the last thing to hit the ground. but the part of the plane above the wings would have the greatest structural support, so wouldn't it be the strongest, therefore the safest?

As i work with planes every day, in and out, under and over,
the safest place in on the ground!! how ever if you must fly it's wiser to sit near the exit's, or on the wing!!!! But I will inform u that 95% of our planes are safe, I"ve seen the tinest nick on a fan delay a plane for 6 hours, There's a engineir on most flights. The planes are checked be4 each take off.
[A tip for you take your own parshute]
enjoy your flight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If your plane go down there no one place that is safer then the other. Now I like the window seats so I have something to look at.

sure. The more engines and the bigger, teh safer it is.

if the plane is going ot crash nobody survives......and if the plane explodes because of the fuel probably everybody will die because if they are flying over the sea they will fall and drwon but if your flying over land you will fall and explode too.

-nothing is safe.

Did you ever hear of a plane crashing into a mountain backwards?? I"d say the back would be safer.

The way I see it is: has a plane ever reversed into the side of a mountain? As for scientific facts, I'm not sure, sorry.
