Fabulous Flight Attendant
Rating
These are a few of the experiences that I (and a couple of my friends) have encountered while working for different airlines...

I was working as the Senior Flight Attendant, and we had an abnormal landing. The Chief Pilot was flying, and failed to tell me any of the circumstances that were going on - just that we were going around again to attempt another landing. Needless to say, the passengers were somewhat concerned about the emergency vehicles following our aircraft down the runway.

One of my best friends was working as a gate agent, and a passenger grabbed her by her shirt collar, and started to drag her across the counter. Fortunately (for her), a police officer was walking past at that moment, and apprehended the passenger - who went to jail for assault.

Two of my friends have dealt with fires in different parts of the aircraft (one in the galley oven - short circuit, and one in the lavatory - passenger smoking).

One of my coworkers stole my brand new car, and took it out joyriding. When I got it back, it had had $2000 worth of damage done to it. What was worse was that the local police department refused to do anything about it, as did corporate headquarters. If I park my car in the airport employee parking lot, I expect it to STAY in the employee parking lot.

Several people have come onboard my flights, and been obviously intoxicated. One person was so intoxicated that they could barely stand upright. Intoxication is a recurring theme in the airline industry...

I had a flight going out with a bunch of Army personnel who had just gotten back from Iraq. Several of them had been drinking, and two of them literally broke out in a fist fight in the back galley. The captain came out to break it up, and as he was turning around to go back to the flight deck, one of the combatants decided to start making lewd and inappropriate comments.

I could keep going... I've had some really crazy experiences happen to me.

I've had a lot of great experiences as a Flight Attendant, as well. They certainly outweigh the negatives. And "Airline" is one of my favorite shows - I know people who have been on it.

well...as my relatives traveled from new york to seattle over x-mas coming and going was a bit difficult for them.
first my brother in law and his girlfriend had the dumbest girl over the counter tell them that their reservation dosnt exist however it was there but you know how the airlines have stupidly branched out which was the case here that he had bought the ticket through delta airlines but it was operated by alaska airlines...so anyways, the girl said sorry but no reservation. however he got home to call his travel agent and they fixed it only to get here a day late. my inlaws got here fine. but leaving was a different story. they were delayed an entire day and a half and got home on christmas eve day when they were supposed to get home on the 22nd. delays SUCK!!!

my flight on united was supposed to be from burbank to denver (layover) to indianpolis. well weather was bad (it was summer) so we went from burbank to san fransisco. at san fransisco we got fogged in so our route got changed again.then we flew to denver. and there was a big storm so we got rerouted to chicogo and the plane lost power due to the storm (very turbulant flight) and then we finally got to indiapolis! it was a very long...bad day!

my airplane went to the wrong terminal in the wrong state. we were heading to houston for a layover but we stopped in dallas by mistake. so the pilot called for a bus to drive the passengers to houston to catch the scheduled plane

A few years ago, I went to Arizona to visit a friend at her college. On the plane ride home, I felt the plane make a dramatic u-turn. We were about an hour up in the air when this has happened. When a stewardess came by, I asked her what had happened, and she replied 1 of the engines malfunctioned and we were landing at the nearest airport. It was nerve-wrecking that an engine stopped working in the air. With this incident, I was delayed at an airport for about 4 hours.

My worst experience was flying Columbus Day about 7 years ago from Boston to Greensboro, NC with a stopover in one of the New York Airports. There was bad weather and I got stuck in NYC.

I was one of the last flights in and out. There were no hotels available within 30 minutes of the airport, everything was booked. I slept in the airport and as rescheduled on a 9AM flight. I was comfortable sleeping at the gate of where I was going to fly the next day

At midnight, the airport police was kicking everybody out of the security section. That was crap. We were all kicked out of security into the main airport where the seats were much worse and there was no carpeted floor. In the morning I had to go through security again and get to my gate. Since I was already there, I thought I would just get to my gate at 6AM. I'm glad I did because my 9AM flight was canceled and I got on a 7AM flight.

This Christmas on the 22nd Dec. I flew from Germany to San Antonio with stop over in Chicago (why oh why did I fly into Chicago during winter). My flight was canceled. I flew standby to Dallas, then stand by to San Antonio. Each time being the last person called 5 minutes before closing the door. I got into S.A. at 2:30 AM instead of 10PM. The airline and staff were great, but it was still an ordeal.

look on www.pprune.org (professional pilots forum) and this will give you a good idea of who the bad airlines and airports are from a pilots, crew, ground and engineering staff - from the horses mouth!!

Security seems to be a big problem at airports. Have you heard whats happened recently at Bristol airport? Look on he BBC website to find out more...

http://www.airlinequality.com/ will give you the best airport and airlines in the world with the complaints by passengers too.

Tell you friend that they dont make these programs up, it is real life!!

I know somebody who really had an awful experience that left a scar.

That person got poured on with HOT COFFEE... I think she had third-degree burns. It is apparent on her neck and arms.

in 2000, when United workers were striking, we were delayed for 5 hours. We were given $200 in vouchers to make up for it, but it was still a drag being delayed at our airport-and that we the airport we chose to fly out of, we had just checked in and we had to wait that long. In other words, that was the departure airport and not a connection airport. :( We can laugh about it now though.

My worst experience flying was when I flew Continental, and things went well except when I got to the Houston Airport. My first flight was canceled, then they suggested I go to a standby flight, which after waiting an hour, was completely filled up, and then they told me to go to another gate, which was then delayed 4 more hours. The weather wasn't even the problem, it was in June, and then on the flight back, same problem! At least after writing a letter to Continental, they apologized, and sent me a $75, flight certificate good for one year from the time I had the bad experience at that airport. I just think from now on I will avoid Huston's airport, at all costs!!

it is real because that is what really happens but i have never really had a bad experiance , maybe some lost luggage but always got it back the next day because it was on international flights on american airlines

mallory8888
What a bunch of whiners. I'd say 99% of the things on the show Airline are the passengers fault(get your *** to the gate on time, don't stop at the bar) or the weather's fault. You can't complain about the weather, the airlines can't control that. You don't know what the employees have to go through. The same situations as you, but they do it all day.
