Khakis and a polo shirt with leather flat shoes. Or if you are an "Ugly American" put on your jogging suit and sneakers or flip-flops.
------
OK, a few people beat me to it. If you wear a track suit or something similar, it looks sooooo low class. |

I took long flights before and I am really young. You should where loose clothing. If you want to add some style maybe a loose stylious tee and loose jeans or pants will work. It will also matter where you are going. If you are going to somewhere clod than a loose tee and jeans will work and bring a light hjacket on board if poosible. If you are travelling to somewhere hot/mild than a loose t-shirt and pants/caprias/shorts would work. |

Just flew there and back to New Zealand. I swear, I wore my pajamas on the flight. IN the airport. At first, I had some stares.
Four hours into the flight I heard: "Man, I'm doing that next time." |

something comfortable. Slip on shoes. It is usually cold on a plane so wear something warm but not bulky. Layers is good, like a zip up sweatshirt. Socks. A hairstyle that wont get flat when you sleep on it. Something that won't wrinkle. Have fun! |

Loose and comfortable, but wear layers as the temperature can vary quite a bit, that way you can add or lose a layer as required. |

definitely don't wear jeans. wear pants that have a soft feel---like warm up pants, pyjama bottoms, etc. and a loose tshirt with a zip up hoodie over top--definitely go for the layers on top. some thick slipper like long socks might also be helpful.
I used to care about making a fashion statement when I flew--but I now fly far too often and just can't be bothered, I need to feel comfortable. |

I'd suggest something lose and comfortable. Cotton weaves are best because they are breathable. If your going to a warm location I'd almost suggest a knee legnth skirt (I did that when I went to hawaii and it was comfortable!). Don't do jeans because they are stiff (I did that once on a 9 hour flight and it was horribly uncomfortable). Track suits are a great idea (done that too) they have an elastic waiste and you have a jacket on top of a shirt for layers. Think about your destination too. If it's a country that may look down on women wearing pants I'd go with the skirt idea. |

I'd go with a nice sweat outfit. You know how they make like velour ones for girls. Something not so casual but kind of nice....they are comfy and you can pull it off as being nicer looking than regular sweats. |

Lose and comfy sweats with a nice tee underneath in case you need to take your jacket off. I would also have a hair tie to put my hair up. |
