but it also takes a high rate of speed to make that air differential work...thus the big jet engines on a plane

the wings and the movement of the wings through the air. the wings shape "an airfoil" when moved through the air this creates a split in pressures on it ...hi pressure is on the bottom portion of the wing and lo pressure is on the top. the higher pressure attempts to rejoin the lower pressure pushing on the wings lower surface causing it to lift . the engines provide the forward movement .
