If you're not happy at it then don't stay at it. I stuck out nursing for 12 years after qualifying because of the money and security. I only changed career last year. I am still trying to get a job after a year at college but I don't regret my decision. I did travel & tourism so I know about being an air hostess. You need to be :
Fluent in english language
Height of 5'2 minimum and weight in proportion.
You cannot wear glasses but can wear contacts.
Need to be impeccably groomed.
Need to be fit and strong and able to swim a length.
Your nurse training experience will be an advantage to you as well.
You need to be allowed work in any country the airline services.
Flexibility is good to have.
Good manners, be helpful, courteous & friendly.

Your main job is safety and after that it is service. They will give you full training once they accept you. Health needs to be at top level. Good luck.

Other than basic literacey and numeracy. A cool head, no panic attacks. You will be on your feet for long periods, so good stamina.

And yes a few words and phrases at least in several languages.

Good luck!

To work for a major airline (BA, Virgin) you will need to speak one other language as well as English. Otherwise it would be seen as a bonus in the no-frills or charter market (Easyjet, Ryanair, Thomson, First Choice).

Otherwise you just need basic GCSEs, good health, weight in proportion to height, and good customer service and above all TEAMWORK skills. Don't be fooled by the "glamorous" lifestyle though, it is hard work! Passengers can be demanding, scared, drunk, rude or just psychos and you have to deal with it - there are no "pending" trays at 35,000ft!

The ability to make a decent cup of tea will also help!

Good luck!

dont think you need any qualifications directly languages might help and you need to be a certain height aswell you go girl go for it.

well i did travel and tourism for 2 years at college then went for a job at FLYBE (but changed my mind) and when i went for my induction and chatted to the staff hardly any of them even had gcse's!
They say its usefull to have a foregn language and first aid training ,. but other then that each airline trains differently , it also depends if its first class or just like easyjet aswell
Just try appliying to loads of companys to keep u on file for when they have vacancys

A beatiful face and gorgeous hands... that's all you need hun

as far as im aware you only need your 3 gcse in the main subjects but seein as your at uni you obviously got them. i was thinkin about doin that and got an application form but got pregnant. you need loads of checks and really good refernces of well educated people who have known you for at least 5 years its prob changed now coz of the terroist but you should look on the internet itll tell you all but its quite based on looks as well.good skin nice hair etc good luckxxxxxxxxxx
