What should I wear on a long plane ride? |
I will be going on a 10 hour plane ride and am wondering what I should wear. I don't really care about looking stylish, I just want to be comfortable.
My real problem is whether I should wear shorts or long pants. |

Since the inside of the cabin gets cold and drinks sometimes get spilled etc. I'd wear long pants, but make sure they're not jeans (unless very old and comfortable) but something like corduroy or khaki. Also wear comfortable shoes (you can take them off some of the time) that you can slip into quickly when needed and are good for walking (most airports require miles of walking). A lot of the time people just sleep...Be glad you're not going on the 15 hour trip from US to Korea or the 20+ hour trip from US to Africa. 10 hours will go by rather quickly if you just sleep a lot. |

Hi,,,, wear what is the most comfortable clothes you want to wear... and shoes also... dont do like so many and dress for success while flying,,,,, unless you are leaving the jet for a huge meeting ....
I wear running pants with pockets and a light zip up jacket also...
sometimes it gets cold in there,,, or hot....
good luck....
have fun...... |

I would wear shorts and bring a blanket or sweats to wear over it its cold. Or wear zip off pants, either way you can add on if your cold or take off it your hot. Have fun on your trip. Good luck. |

I usually wear long pants the athletic sweatpant type from Nike or adidas they are comfortable and look pretty nice after a 10 hour flight.Make sure you wear comfortable shoes but because your feet sweel up during the flight don't take them off until after you land. |

hi,
the best thing to wear on a long plane flight I think are long trousers, 'causse it can be pretty cold with the air co.
maybe you can take a pair of shorts with you in your handbag. just in case it's too warm on the plane, or outside.
I've flown 6 times 8 hours, and I would prefer long trousers, plus I always take some shorts just in case.
have a nice trip.

Wear long pants, stretch waistline, and a loose shirt so you can move around easily in your seat. Go ahead and put a pair of shorts in one of your carry on bags, so you can change, just in case for some reason the airplane is stuffy and hot, which sometimes happens if the ventilation system is inadequate. |

Long pants (skirts & dresses can get caught on the seat arms) w/stretch waistband, a light-weight top & a jacket in case you get chilled. Don't wear a bra (too constricting) - wear a top w/a built-in shelf bra or a pull on bra from Kohls (light nylon, no hooks or underwire), change into a pair of ballet style slippers before you board. Your body will swell so you want nothing constrictive. My niece, a long haul flight attendant, says Gas X helps w/bloating which can be very painful (& embarassing). |

Wear comfortable long pants and comfortable, closed-toe shoes. While it is unlikely that you'll be in a crash, there is always the chance, or possibly an emergency landing that requires you to evacuate the plane even though it doesn't crash. In evacuations, people in shorts or ladies in dresses often get injuries sliding down the slide; you get something like rug-burn from the surface of the slide rubbing against your skin. And if you do have to evacuate, you may have to walk through any sort of terrain--- woods, brush, water, who knows--- you'll be better prepared in long pants. As for the shoes, make sure you can put them on very quickly because you may take them off in flight, and make sure you can walk a long ways in them without getting blisters. Open toes or sandals will make it more likely to get cut by broken glass and debris.
I know it's a really long shot that you'll be involved in a crash or emergency situation but you should be prepared just in case. It'd be pretty bad for you to have survived the initial emergency only to shred your calves and legs on the slide! |

I only wear natural fabrics when I fly . loose fitting long pants and long sleeved cotton shirts. Comfortable closed toed shoes and bulky sox- wool. I do it for two reasons : first of all I find it more comfortable and secondly in the event of a crash I am wearing fabrics that will to some degree protect me and will burn off of my skin rather than melt into it |

Wear long pants because planes are always cold. If it's warm at your final destination you can always pack a pair of shorts in your carry on. Have a good time, wherever you are going. |

where are you going? you could wear cotton shorts and bring a pair of long pants that you can slip on and off over the shorts. so if your cold slip the pants on and if your hot slip them off. good idea? HAVE FUN!!!! |

Its really either or. Sometimes the planes are cold, sometimes they arent. Its really six one half dozen the other. You can always wear shorts and take a small blanket in your carry on. |

It depends where you are going. If you are going toa really hot place like South America or Europe, the I would wear shorts. If you are going somewhere in the winter, I would wear long pants. I would not wear a sweatshirt. I would weart short sleeves and bring a sweatshirt so that way if you get hot you can take it off. If you wear pants, try to get ones that zip, so you can unzip them if you get hot! |
