What should an 11 year old girl take to do on a 15 hour flight?

We are going to Hong Kong and I hate it when people tell me to read on planes. I just cant do it. Please dont tell me to sleep because that is almost impossible for me to do on flights. So please tell me somethings I can bring with me to keep occupied. Hurry!!! We are leaving at 3:00 am!

Portable dvd player, laptop, ipod, and magazines.

breath

RocknRoll
a laptop or a personal dvd player..

God Bless You!
Uhhh....I was just going to tell you to read and sleep heh. Well, some planes have personal tv for each passenger so if you have one, you can watch anything you want! Or..... hmmmm..... daydream? Just a fact= there's nothing much you can do in a plane, unless you have friends, then you can talk with them. Maybe you could meet the person next to you?

Wide-Eyed-Wanderer
You could try writing a novel...hehe.

How about: MP3 Player (with long battery life), Paper and a pen (in case you suddenly feel artistic), Magazines (You can always just look at the pictures) and you could always consider the meaning of life for 11 hours!

I would do puzzle books, variety puzzles are the best because of the variety, you don't get bored. That flight will also have movies and radio to listen to. Take SNACKS!. Stationary and/or postcards to write to your friends. Journal. Write a book. Draw some pictures. Make a list of your life goals. Have a translation tape? Audio books. Do you like to knit, loom, paint? What's your hobbies? Take them along.

Get her a Nintendo DS or gameboy and a few games. A little money but a great idea and it will keep her busy.

concerned neighbor
Do you have a hand held game such as a Gameboy or an MP3 player? You could also watch the inflight movies. Do you have some homework you could take with you to do? How about writing some letters to penpals or friends and family?

When I flew to asia in 2000 they had video games on the plane and in flight movies with a screen in the chair for everyone, also an in flight radio, so there will be stuff to do when the stuff you pack gets boring...and it will...

I flew to london in 2005 and there were still video games, but they told me they only turn them on during trips to asia...

Have fun!

Amy
Sleep is an awesome option, lol. Umm, if you like video games maybe a hand held. If you can get your hands on a portable dvd player, watch some movies. Take a mp3 player. Magazines, I know it says the thing about reading, but I don't really read magazines.

Which airline are you going to take? If its Cathay / Singapore, there is a fab personal video console, with games and TV to while away the time.

Why not take some activity books (like puzzles etc)? Its not really reading!! Listening to music is a good idea too? Do you have an iPod maybe??? Make sure to walk up and down the aisle from time to time, 15 hours is just too long a time to sit still in one place

JESSIKA
Bring an IPOD, some magazines (you can buy them at the airport, and even if it's just to look at the pics), a gameboy or PSP, and you just have to keep your mind as clear as possible. Long flights SUCK!!

Bourgeois Happy Feelings
It's a 15 hour flight- you'll have to sleep sometime or you'll be knackered by the time u get to hong kong. And it won't be that hard when they turn down the lights and everyone else is also sleeping.

You don't really need to take anything- except maybe your mp3 player. Depending on the airline, the entertainment inflight will be enough. There's usually more than 20 movies to choose from as well as tv programs and even video games.

15 hour flights are not bad. I love flying so i would take it as a good thing :)

WiseGal
back pack with gameboy
crossword or puzzle or color book
cracker type snack, raisins snacks (if allowed on flight)
a few dollars and some small change

An Mp3 player, i.e. ... iPod, again... make sure its charged.
A Laptop
An activity book
A CD player, if u don't have Mp3, and plenty of CD's and batteries.
a portable video game system.
Your cellphone in game mode, ask the flight attendent, so you can play games on the plane.
Crochet Needles
travel board games
Write in a journal of your security experience, and plane experience
Digital camera, so you can take pictures from the air...

Books,
Sleep... :-)

Well, that's all I can think of. hope this helps
