What to Wear on the Plane? |
I am going to Florida tomorrow. The flight is only a couple of hours long since I am in Pennsylvania. I am leaving around 8:00 in the morning to go, and my flight is an hour and a half later or so. It's going to be very chilly where I am, yet Florida is going to be 90 tomorrow for a high where I am going. Normally 12-4 is the peak heat time, so when I land I know it's going to be very warm.
What could I wear on the plane? I don't want to wear long sleeves and roast and look like a moron when I land in FL, but I don't want to wear shorts and freeze to death on the plane. I am always chilly on plane rides since they blast the A/C.
Any suggestions of something to wear? I was considering a cami, a 3 quarter lengthed shirt over that, and then capris. Too warm/too cold?
I'm 16 by the way for some sort of reference if you need it. Thanks :) |

Wear something with layers. That way you can change according to the temperature. I always find it cold on the airplane, so I always take sweater or some sort, that I can put on or take off as I need to. |

Wear something that you know is comfortable, but if you can wear layers then that would be best. If it's chilly in the morning when your flight leaves, you can wear a sweatshirt. If you have a shirt underneath the sweatshirt, you can take it off when you get to Florida or on the flight. |

I would wear something comfortable on the plane, and in a small carry-on pack your shorts and a nice top.
That way, you can change when you get there, and god for bides, have any outfit in case the airline loses or delays your checked baggage! |

Capri's are a good choice. Also pack a light sweater in your carry-on because it will get chilly once you are at cruising altitude.
I will recommend you NOT wear polyester! In the absolute worse case scenario, you want to wear more flame retardant clothing. I know it's not something you want think about, but poly melts to skin.
Just a tip I picked up when I was a flight attendant. Also, wear closed toe shoes. Just in case, you alway want to be prepared. |

I would wear a nice twin set with cotton twill pants and regular shoes. Pack a cotton twill skirt and sandals in your carry-on bag. It's kind of that classic J.Crew look and it won't get you kicked off the plane like that one girl!
When you get to Florida, you can easily slip your pants and shoes off and put your sandals and skirt on. You can also remove the cardigan from the twin set so you will just have a tank top on. Cotton twill is light but will still keep you from getting cold on the plane. Planes are always cold year-round!
Just remember to always wear socks to the airport! You will need to remove your shoes and you don't want to have to walk through the metal detector bare foot. I learned this lesson the hard way!
