It'll be like $10 for the internet at least.
I always have long layovers when I fly because as a non-rev, i list for segments that gives me long layovers. I carry an iPod with me and load movies on there. Passes the time like nothing else.
LAX is a very interesting airport. There is lots and lots of eye candy flying in and out of there for any gender and orientation of the flyer.
People watching has always been my most favorite way to pass the time during a layover. |

If you have free internet, I suggest you check out these websites:

They're pretty funny and they should keep you busy for a while. I go to them pretty much every day when I need a laugh. |

You'll be surprised how fast it goes by. Alot of time is taken up by simply navigating. Take a book to read or take a look in the shops. (In the airport)
I had a six hour lay over in New York and it went by fast. |

I don't know if you are in school or what but take some work with you or take a good book and get lost in it. But be careful once I was reading a book at a bus terminal and was so into it I missed the call for my bus and had to wait several hours for the next one. LOL |

I used to try to find the funniest looking person and try to find someone who could top them when I was a little kid going through all the airports.
I think now I would attempt to stand super close to people reading magazines in the magazine stores there in the shopping area of it, and when they look at me, touch their magazine like I wanted it, then put it down for them lol.
Heck, you could try to pick up something to do, like pen spinning while you are there. It might take a while to learn, but you could try to learn a basic trick like the "thumb around". It's quite fun and once I learned it, I do it all the time when I'm bored with a pen in my hand. |

I missed my connecting flight at LAX and had to wait there for 12 hours, all because my first flight was late. I don't know how I got through the wait. I must have gone insane. I used internet, I walked around, I had lunch, I went to the bar. Then I saw these girl from England and I watched them for a while.
Advice: get out of the airport if you can. |

umm, if the internet is free or not too expensive u can surf the web.
read a book, buy magazines, talk on the fone, watch tv, eat a snack, listen to music. if ur not alone u can talk to some1, use the bathroom, go shopping in the gift shops, work on some stuff that u need to finish for work or skool.
that should keep u busy for 4 hours :D
hope i helped! |

first thing make sure you find your gate, i thought i had 4 hours at an airport til i got there and it took all but 20mins of the time to get to my next gate, i had just enough time to find my gate, get a sandwich sit down and eat and they were calling me on board, i was looking forward to walking around , shopping and reading a book i had took along. i also had a hand video game set. |
