What to do in the plane so i won't get bored (like i usually do?)? |
it's a 13 hour plane ride to japan.
i do this every yr, but i always get so bored and so tired and so sleepy (yet unable to sleep on the stiff hard-backed seats until the last few minutes!) that i almost feel as if going to visit my friends and family isn't worth it (but in the end it always is).
sooo, my flight takes off tomorrow, and in the meantime, i'm wondering whether anyone has some tips and 'things-to-dos' and time-wasters on planes.
yeah yeah, i have the non-originals: iPod, games, movies, books...
and oh yeah, does anyone also have any tips not to get jet lagged? i HATE jet lag.
thanks in advance! |

I'd buy a portable dvd player, the a tv season of a soap opera you like... (I love grey's anatomy and it is a great show), and watch the season all the way to japan. There are these little things you can buy in the airport in which you can charge electronic items in a plane. I would also take an ipod, but with a playlist with a selection of great music so that I dont have to keep changing the song every time. When i listen to music, I simply relax and let my mind take me anywhere I want. I would also take one of those night little pillows to be able to sleep, and if ur flight isnt too full, also take advantage of the empty seats. Lastly, I would spend at least two hours looking at the wonderful view, maybe its ocean, or clouds. i was one flying a nonstop to paris, and i spent like four hours watching the cloud formations. It reallt helps to kill time. |

Reading a book always helps or bring an ipod and watch videos. Or you can bring your computer and watch movies etc. These flights always go by quickly for me because I watch movies. |

I find magazines are better than books--you don't have to concentrate quite as much, which is easier in that environment.
Sudoku. Kills a couple hours before you even realize. |

I've seen most of my stand-by's mentioned . . .
* upload audiobooks to the iPod.
* videos to the iPod if you have a G5
* crossword puzzles / wordsearches
* journal / write letters
* I watched CartoonNetwork from Baltimore to Manchester, UK this summer on the InFlight entertainment
* sleep - really easy if you upgrade to business or first class. otherwise, request bulkhead seating - there's a little more room and if nobody is beside you, take up 2 seats!
Bon Voyage! |

Take several books to read, or you could do crossword puzzles, and if the flight would allow it you might take a craft to do while on the flight. You might have to check with them about their rules. |
