I think the best thing is to choose an airline that has personal seat back in-flight entertainment. The better airlines have on demand movies or at least 10-12 movies to choose from, tv shows, documentaries, news, games and a couple of dozen audio programs from which to choose. Otherwise bring some books, magazines, games, iPod or whatever you like that keeps you entertained. Most good airlines offer great in-flight entertainment these days, there's nothing more boring than an airline that still has the old fashioned monitors hanging from the ceiling with no choice of what you want to watch. |

get a bunch of movies on an ipod, no ipod? buy a portable DVD player and get your favorite movies... no money? Buy wordsearches or brain teasers... not into that? Get a cd player and buy a few cds, just 3 should last you even if you listen to them 4 times each. |

iPod with plenty of music, they have movies on the flight, if you are lucky, you will have the type of plane that has the individual monitors for you to watch your choice of many movies, videos, tv shows, read a book, work on puzzle books. |

Dependant on your carrier you may be able to watch your own individual tv for the whole flight :)
I just had two enourmous flights recently, each way we ended up spending 37 hours in transit. Books, crosswords, magazines, on flight entertainment, brush up on the language or learn the basics
its all good :) |

Maybe you could bring a MP3, Ipod whatever to help pass time, maybe a computer to keep you busy, a portable DVD to watch your favorite movies, bored games you could play with the person going with you, that's what I did on the plane! Hope it helps :D |

I was in a flight from houston to paris and it was also long, but i read, listened to music and there is probably some kind of entertainment (movies, tv shows) that your airline provides so you should be alright. |

Depending upon what time your flight leaves sleep may be an option get one of those travel neck pillows, an eye shade and ear plugs. On overnight flights they turn off the cabin lights to help people sleep.
otherwise : read bring a couple books and magazines, watch the movie, listen to music, do sudoku or crossword puzzles, if you have a DS play games |
