This is actually quite an interesting question. It does depend on what you are after. If you want to go from, say, London to Paris on Monday at 06:00, back at 17:00 then pretty much anything will do. These are commuter flights and will cost a lot, period. If you want to go from A to B to C and possibly D and E as well then you are better off with a good old fashioned travel agent. Why? Well, internet travel websites are wonderful things - they will answer your question. The thing is, have you asked the right question? AND are you getting the answer from the right source?There are a whole host of online booking websites, airlines have them, consolidators have them, some are affiliate sites some are just high street agents online. Never in a month of Sundays will you be able to work out what is what. No site, that is NO site can take a holistic view of what you are trying to do and work out the best way of doing it. This can only be done by a wriy old "been around the block several times" travel agent who knows his or her stuff. Also, bear in mind that we have a standing joke in the travel business - if you are really rich, you can afford to book on expedia! |

I've had good luck with orbitz.com, but at priceline.com, you can name your own price and if an airline wants to sell you a ticket at that price, they will. If not, you just have to up your price a bit. It seems like that would be a great way to get an inexpensive ticket. |

I am traveling to Dubai and I have searched at least 25 different discount airfare websites. The best I found was Orbitz.com. They were about $200 less than all the others and I got to choose what time I wanted to leave for my trip. Price line was a little cheaper, but you have no options. You have to leave when they want you to, whether it's 3 PM or 3 AM. You also don't have a choice where you are seated and may have two or three connections/layovers resulting getting to your destination much later than you probably want to.The little money I would save wasn't worth the inconvenience. Hope this helps and have a good trip! |
