What would make your airport experience better?

With all the new security regulations and longer wait periods at airports, I wanted to put this question out there. As a traveler or as a person waiting for a passenger, what would help make your experience at the airport better even with the current regulations?

Wear comfortable clothes, expecially the shoes -no high heels! Bring a pillow and light, fun books to read. Bring your own TP just in case. And make sure to drink lots of water.Swallow some vitimin B every couple of hours to help with stress.

even more shops would suit me...i love being at the airport so not worried how long i am there...love to people watch as well and wonder what parts of the world they are all going to!!

Places where you can actually lie down and take a nap when you're stuck at the airport for several hours. They should have a lounge with nap cubicles and a locker for your carry on that you can rent in 30 min. increments. On a 4-hour layover I would totally pay for that if it was somewhat reasonable, like $10 an hour.

i dont do drugs but with the current regulations in place that seems like it might be an immediate tongue in cheek response to dealing with it, that most can see the humor in. for a reality based solution, the only thing that makes sense to me is some movement back toward reasonable precautionary measures to actually prevent some real threat, after the understandable far reaching over reaction to the terrible events that spawned the new regulations. certainly we have to accept that there is some threat, now in any travel, that we never considered before. but i think the precautions have become soo restrictive they exceed the safety margin accorded by them. travel used to be fun. now its simply hard work, and reasonable decient law abiding citizens find themselves fearing the repercussions of trying simply ensure thier ability to feed thier babbies on an airplane. due to the fear that, well meaning, airline employees will attack them for bringing, now unauthorized, milk on a plane. i ask you just how absurd must a regulation become to merrit reconsideration? must we all stop using airplanes altogether to be safe from becomming suspect simply by doing normal things? i dont think there is any iron clad fool proof way to absolutely make every flight 100% safe from any possibility of a problem, as long as passengers are allowed to wear clothing and eat on flights. they could, i suppose, hit you with a sock with an airline vodka bottle in it, or a slice of lamb, or strangle you with their underware, but just how likely is that? we have to, at some point, assess just what depth of threat and what depth of deprivation makes sense and is acceptable, if we intend to continue to use aircraft as a means of transportation, at all. i say stop guns and knives, bow and arrows, obvious threats, but allow sealed cans of pop, babys milk, sandwiches. i mean, after all for gods sake, how badly can they harm you, if they hit you with a ham sandwich? or a bottle of milk? punishing the rest of the passengers for the idiocy of the few nuts bent on doing harm or interrupting our travels, seems to say to them we will willingly let you win, simply by over restricting everyone elses comfort till they cannot continue to tolerate air travel, then the terrorists will be the only passengers, and the threat will be much greater, but to whom? further let me walk with my wife or child or the one i love, for as far as i can go till they or i must walki onto a plane, check me for weapons but if there actually is the threat authorities seem to percieve, let me be there for the ones i love so they'll be safe as far as i can make them so, if for no other reason than simply because its humane. because currently, in addition to all the added fears fo a possible terrorist threat and fears of misconceptions of perfectly benign items you may carry, as the protector of my loved ones, i can ensure they will not be harmed if i live and can put my self infront of them, yet, as their best and most reliable line of defense, i am forceably kept from accompanying them everywhere in an airport, to ensure their safety, where we all know no police force can protect each and every person at all times, so in additional to the real or percieved dangers and deprivation of all the normal ammenities of the old days of travel, a complete lack of safety for my family, is also a new unstated sacrifice, caused by stopping all loved ones without tickets at a point sometimes nearly a mile from the departure point, where they used to be permitted to sit with you right up to the point of boarding the plane. i guess, all in all, the only thing that ever makes me feel comfortable about the new situation in an airport is when me and my entire family, and everone i care about has departed the vicinity of the airport and are all accounted for far away from it, with no immediate thoughts of returning to it. ofcourse i, like everyone else, dislike the longer waiting times, having actually missed a flight while simply waiting for three hours to be allowed to pass a checkpoint while they viewed a tape of a karaoke contest as if it posed some danger, i simply grumble like everyone else about that. but actual increased danger and lack of food for babies, sint acceptable to me. ofcourse i, like you, have no choice if i choose to travel, other than by ox cart, but thats how i feel.

Food. Bring your own. My wife told me that when she was a kid her dad packed a bunch of ham and rolls in his bag. They were all laughing and making fun of him, but when the flight got delayed those sandwiches tasted so good, but he didn't share.

Let people with passports use a fast track lane (since they have already been prescreened) and that will clear up the usually crowded lanes for those that do not chose to obtain a passport. The system is already in place and does need a new bureaucracy.

carry as little stuff as you can. the less you have to check in, the less you have to haul, the less you have to show to security... makes it so much better. and don't carry anything they dont want you to carry. you'll just smooth right through.

and carrying an ipod or mp3 player. thank god for technology.

Yeah bed booths would be good, with alarm clocks.

It would look something like a toilet booth, but with basic beds in it.
