Cathy Pacific is #1
Malaysia Airlines #2

As a rule the major Asian owned airlines by far surpass most any other.

KLM (now owned by Air France) is still good, but can be hit & miss as for service. I've had good flights with them, and some where the staff was only fair.

For U.S. Northwest by far! I've racked up hundreds of thousands of miles with them and they have never dropped ball.

Worse is United with American not far behind.

I'd say United. It was a long flight and it was the most relaxing and comfy plane ride I had ever taken. The flight attendents were very nice and overall it was a great experience.

The worst is Mexicana. If you plan on flying to MExico, take another airline dont do Mexicana. They tend to lose luggage quite a bit.

I've travelled with KLM, British Airways, Lufthansa, Olympic Airways, Cyprus Airways, Sabina (not around anymore), Air Canada and West Jet.

So far British Airways was the best, by far! Their service was amazing, everyone was super friendly, the food/drinks were very good, they take care of you if you have any special needs(food restrictions, handicap, etc.) and the best part is that EVERYONE (even in coach) gets their own personal TV screen to watch movies, shows and play games(you can choose which ones you want to see.) Please note that all of this was on a trans-Atlantic trip and I'm not sure what they offer on smaller planes that might be used for shorter flights. Their prices are also very competitive.

I'm going to be flying with Alitalia in a few months, so I don't know if they will change my mind on this subject but they have a lot to live up to.

Hope this helps!

KLM is the best! I travel back and forth from Germany to Canada, and they treat me great, and also allow my little dog to come in the cabin with me. Or when I have my 2 little dogs, they are very good with them in the special cargo area, they have a animal handler take care of them. And they are the cheapest airlines to take your pets. Can't travel on British Airways cause they have a 'rabies' quarantine in their country!
Re: Your Tim Hortons question, I don't think they will ever get Tim Hortons internationally because it would cost too much to ship the supplies over seas. They do now have one starting in Afghanistan for the Canadian troops.

Qantas is world-class.

American is horrible, as is Delta I hear.

BWIA is utter trash. Don't ever fly that airline.

Austrian Airlines, smooth ride all the way, great customer service and good food for a change!

Jet Blue. Comfy seats. In-seat video. You can call ahead and schedule a playlist/movie list for your trip. Reasonable prices.

My only complaint is they don't fly to a lot of the cities I want to go to.

For international flights, Finnair.

air france came through for me big time, and they had great food. They were also the first I flew on that showed your location on a screen at the front of the cabin.

Princess

#2 Cathay Pacific - service, prices, flies via Hong Kong
