take a book, watch a movie, chat to the person next to you. hassle the air stewards/hostess whateva theyre called. eat all the food that you can get ur hands on [if its good food that is]. enjoy the view out the window, and keep away from little kids [especially avoid ones sitting behind u or next to you]

I prefer to use put on a sleep mask to keep out the light, put on the airline's headset, tune in to classical music, maybe take a motion sickness pill on an overnight flight (this is a mild sedative and will help you fall asleep) and tune out the world.
