I have been flying for many years and have made countless flights and i have only ever had one bad experience due to heavy turbulance , but i never let it put me off flying as it is the only way to travel. Relax and enjoy it , you will love it. |

Once you've flown a few times it gets pretty tedious to be honest. |

Statistically, it's the safest way to travel. There's no reason to be nervous. Even if you're afraid of heights, it won't be a problem. Planes are so enclosed there's no sensation of being that high. Aside from the takeoff and landing, it feels about the same as riding a bus. |

The pilot you will have will be very experienced, very professional, and likely trained by the military. Commercial pilots are generally some of the best out there, so even if the plane starts bouncing around, you won't have too much to worry about.
In fact, one flight mechanic I spoke with told me something like "If you have time to worry about whether the pilot will get you out of whatever you're in OK, he will. When it gets bad, it'll happen so quick you won't even know it happened". |

In general you should not be nervous. Most airlines are pretty safe. I would be a bit nervous if I was flying an airline in a third world country where the maintenance may be a bit questionable. Just enjoy the flight. |

If you are not naturally nervous at the prospect of flying there is no rational reason to choose to be nervous.
That said there is no compelling reason to be nervous of flying, full stop. |
