I tend to fly whatever is the main airline of the country I'm living in. British Airways is the main one I've used except when we first went to Bucharest when we had to fly Tarom. Once the British Airway flights were up and running, we used those. On internal flights in Russia we had to fly Aeroflot which was fun. The pilots are trained in the army and move over to the commercial flights. It doesn't stop them flying like fighter pilots though and they'd spot the airport runway from a million feet and dive straight for it. Once on the runway (they were good, no bouncing!) they'd jam the anchors on and all the seatbacks would flop forward. You hoped you could untangle you nose from the netting on the back of the seat in front, before the bloke infront sat back up again, otherwise you'd get a face full of seat back!
On both internal Tarom and Aeroflot flights, you frequently flew with chickens (not necessarily in cages), cans of fuel and on one occasion, a goat! If you had a ticket, you were allowed on the flight, so if the flight was overbooked, the last people on the plane had to 'strap hang'.
Again, on Tarom and Aeroflot internal flights the hospitality was to be avoided at all costs. The old Babushka would come round with a tray holding 4 plastic mugs which she would fill with water and pass to the first row. She'd stand there until they'd finished, refill the same mugs (unwashed) with water and pass them to the next row. Food was generally chicken in a plastic bag. I used to pretend I was asleep!
We had an aborted take-off with Tarom. The plane went like the clappers for half the runway and then came to a nerve jangling standstill (noses tangled as usual) We were sitting in 1st Class (the front 6 seats) and watched the mechanic climb into the plane and enter the cockpit. The doors were left open back then. He took the cover off the fascia (just like on a car) and fiddled about a bit. He then took a monkey wrench out and gave something in the front section such a wallop that we all just looked at each other, wondering whether to jump out the door, or sit there and see what else happened. The mechanic walked towards us out of the cockpit and shrugged, saying 'Faulty Warning Light' (in Romanian) and laughing climbed out of the plane. Amazingly, no-one followed him!!!! We took off, and reached our destination without further incident. |

Midwest Airlines is the "Best Care in the Air." The seats on the 717 aircraft are very comfortable and spacious. The Mader's food for sale on board is excellent. Midwest is definitely my favourite carrier. I have never really liked America West. I do not like their attitude as far as customer service goes. I would rather walk than fly America West, but I need the exercise anyway, so it would not hurt for me to walk. |

Virgin Atlantic and British Airways. Both have nice clean planes with decent food. I prefer Virgin Atlantic, though, as the air stewards and stewardess' are more polite |

Singapore Airlines (SIA) Young fleet, the latest wide-bodied aircraft, good punctuality, reasonably good food. latest in-flight entertainment , competitive fares with many flights and friendly service. A very important factor is that the Airlines' home base, Changi Intl Airport is an added major attraction. Indeed, the Airport. the best in the world, is a must-see destination in its own right. I dislike Qatar Air. Very limited space with poor seating and nothing much to talk about where food and service are concerned. |

I liked Emirates, very comfortable and outstanding service.
I despise American Airlines, I found the aircraft to be old and uncomfortable and the cabin crew were the most ignorant, unhelpful and unfriendly I have ever come across, I would never fly with them again. |

I don't touch those cheap and nasty so called "Budget" airlines anymore. They're great if you don't mind queueing all day to check in and paying extra for EVERYTHING. And Ryanair are great if you like the idea of an hour bus ride at your destination because what they call Frankfurt is actually 72 miles away from Frankfurt.
I enjoyed Qatar Airways and Emirates too but for me it has to be British Airways. Online Check-in, no charge for sports equipment, decent service etc etc.
I must point out that I always travel peasant (economy) class. |

JetBlue, b/c they have TV's so I don't have to talk to the person next to me. Also, if you want to sleep, there's not a lot of talking going on around you b/c everyone's watching TV. Did I mention TV? TV. TV. |

Aloha from Down Unda!
My favorite airline isn't in business anymore - 'Branif'...oh well...
Local flites around Hawa!! makes 'Aloha' Airlines the very best!
Now the international favorite is naturally Qantas - best performance & service record!
It will be a cold day in hell before I EVER fly 'Hawaiian' Airlines because of their extremely really shitty service. I wouldn't recommend anyone to use them & I'd be delighted to influence everyone to refrain from subjecting themselves to a miserable group of insults to the aircarrier industry.
When traveling to, from or around Hawa!!, I'd use Aloha Airlines! They successfully project, display, are in tune with, the Aloha Spirit of the Islands. 'Aloha is My Airline'!
Thanks for the question & happy trails!
