Your gf has been away and you don't want to fork out for the car park? Don't be so tightfisted. And never mind mobile phones etc - just get there in plenty of time to meet her at 'Arrivals'.

Everytime I go to collect my family from airport in advance of hearing from them... it goes wrong.

Either it's been delayed (not said on teletext), or at airport it says its been delayed and it actually hasn't (that happened last time and I was pondering going home... when they had actually arrived).

I'm like you but am just 15 mins from airport by car. When I next go to collect... I'm insisting they ring me as soon as they get off the plane. That way, after they have collected their bags, gone through passport checks ect... I should be arriving at airport. However for you.. your girl would probably have to hang tight for 15 minutes or so... and might not appreciate your lack of desire to put yourself out to the extra effort - I'm sure you know what I mean.

check on teletext or phone the airline for flight arrival times and any delays there should not be much in the way of traffic that early in the morning so once you have your information leave allowing flight arrival time and luggage arrival (they probably don't have a full fleet of staff that early)
next time tell her to get a cab (that short a journey can't cost much) or arrange for her to phone you in the arrivals lounge so that you can leave home then

If you have the flight number check on teletex for flight arrivals this should let you know what time the flight is expected to land. Then get yourself to the airport set off 30 minutes before the plane is due to land then PARK UP and PAY
after the latest security risk l don't think you will be able to park too near the terminal anyway.

just make sure to give yourself time if something goes wrong (like too much traffic/ect) better to be early and have to wait than late

That timing is Nasty, with the Charge for Parking and all....Do you have a Cel phone?

I suggest you find a Place near the Airport that you Can Park, and get there when the Plane Arrives. When she has De-planed, and gotten any Baggage (which can be There, or Take a While to come), have her Call, by Pay phone if She has no Cel, and you can get there in a Few Minutes.
