When switching planes do I need to reclaim and recheck my luggage?
I've never flown before so I don't know the proper procedure. I heard that if you switch planes from the same airline then you don't need to recheck your luggage, it just follows you. I am switching planes and flying with the same airline and then switching again and flying with a different airline (Delta to Hawaiian 9). Im going from Arkansas to Hawaii. I don't know if I need to reclaim and recheck.......
Most of the time you don't need to worry about your luggage, it will arrive at your destiny. Although it's a fine service you will have to deal with the loss of your luggage or delays.

Check with your airline carrier to be sure... but, I think once you check them initially, they will be re-routed to the correct place, even if you use a different carrier. ENJOY your trip! Hawaii is AMAZING!... I moved out there for a year after my first trip because I didn't want to leave!

No. Your checked luggage should be checked through to your destination at the departure airport, and doesn't need to be retrieved and re-checked each leg of your trip.
Whew, huh?

If its all part of a ticket (you didnt book the flights separately) then you probably dont have to recheck your luggage. It should automatically go on to the next flight or it might even be sent to your destination directly...

No, You don't need to reclaim and recheck. You usually have just enough time to make your connections, dependin gon the airline schedules. Your bags should be properly identified at your departure airport to ensure that they arrive at your destination with you. The clerk at check-in will tag them appropriately for the connecting flights and airlines. Enjoy your flights!

Most of the time you dont... even if you're switching airline carriers. You can verify this when you first check in your luggage, ask if it will be taken care of to your final destination
Once on an international flight , through Chicago, I've had to re-check my non-carryons. Though in situations like these they would certainly announce it so you can be aware
