When they say when you book a flight somewhere and it has muliple stops, what does that mean exactly? |
I want to book a flight from Raleigh to Roanoke and it says that it has 2 stops. Does that mean that I would get off the plane and get on another like you would a bus or would I just stop and let other passengers onboard? |

You could be allowed to stay on the plane or be required to de-plane and re-board either the same plane or another plane. If you have to de-plane and re-board, you run the risk of missing your connection or your luggage. This risk depends partly on the length of your stop or layover.
If your itinerary says you change airlines, you can bet that you'll have to de-plane and re-board. If not, you will probably have to check the flight numbers and/or call the airline or travel agent. |

means it has layovers, you get off the plane onto anouther one as they transfer your luggage |

If the flight # doesn't change between your stops, then the plane will land, passengers get off the plane for that stop, and other passengers will come on board. If you are on a flight with open seating, they will let you move around. If the flight # changes, then you will get off the plane and get on another plane at another gate.
Since your flight has two stops, as long as your flight # doesn't change, you should have one stop to let other passengers on/off and then the second stop should be your final desitination to Roanoke. |

Another plane. That's a pain- you risk mising the plane-- or some of your luggage. Pay a little extra for direct or only one stop! |

You can look at the flight numbers and tell.. or you could just call the airline itself and ask.. some smaller airlines that do short distances only may make multiple stops, but only to let more people on/off before continuing to their destination. But if it's a major airline, you either look at the flight numbers (if it's the same flight numbers, usually stay on plane) or call the airline itself and ask!! If in doubt just call and ask! they all have an 800 number, just search for it on the web! good luck and be safe! |

That more than likely means you will be changing planes. Which is pretty bad when those 2 cities are not that far away from each other. But, that is what you have to do to get the cheaper fares. |

it means ,you stop at a lot of different places and pick up and drop off people
to find out you need to call the airport
from Raleigh to Roanoke is not that far you may just want to drive it ,going by plane may take you out of your way ,it should be a very short flight |

yeah. you get on another plane |

You would know if you had to change planes b/c you would see other flight numbers if you dont see any it prob. means it makes stops for re fueling or something similiar. |

Yes- the plane will stop twice to let people on and off - you do not have to change planes. |
