Yes, you can keep your passport in your maiden name. However, you may run into problems renting a car abroad if your driving license is in your married name but your passport is in your maiden name. Also - as another answerer pointed out - the name on your airline ticket must match the name on your passport.
Take an official copy (not a photocopy) of your marriage license with you in case it becomes necessary to prove you are married. For example, you may encounter a small, family-run inn that won't rent a room to an apparently unmarried couple.
If you are traveling to a Moslem country it is important to have your passport amended or changed to show that you are married. Amendments are free but can only be accomplished if your passport was issued less than a year before the change. Otherwise, you have to get a new passport and pay the fee. Go to www.state.gov for more info. |

You are keeping your maiden name so there would be no name change to put on your passport. |

Yes. if you do not change your name after you get married, the only name you can use is your maiden name not just on your passport but on all other official documents.
Some women chose to keep their maiden names officially but use their husband's last names for social purposes. Their calling cards may read something like: Andrea Mitchell (Mrs. Alan Greenspan), Special Correspondent, NBC News. |

There is no requirement to change your name when getting married, it is purely tradition. |

yes, it's like when i left my husband i changed back to my maiden name, passport included, even though we weren't divorced. My solicitor said this was fine. Now i am divorcing him I have both my married and maiden names on the papers. I wish I hadn't took his name it's too confusing! |

Yes, make sure all your travel documents is also in your maiden name to. Everything must correspond with the name on your passport for when you travel. Good luck. |

Of course. Changing your name isn't compulsory when you marry, it's just a stupid patriarchal tradition.
Your passport doesn't show your marital status anyway. |

Yes! I did. As long as you have a birth certificate, not a problem! |

In western societies, yes. I don't know the rules in every country but generally, you have to notify a change of name because of marriage or whatever. If you don't advise that your name has changed, a marriage certificate doesn't do it for you. |
