When will I get my on-flight meal?

My flight's at 9pm and I'm flying with Air new zealand on a 12 hour flight. I just want to know if I should eat beforehand so can anyone tell me roughly how any hours after take-off they'll serve the meal? Thanks.

I would definitely have a good meal before you board.I flew Air New Zealand last year and it was one of the worst meals I've ever had on a flight. This might not be the case everytime, but I wasn't impressed. They served the meal about 2 and a half hours after we had taken off,and I was starving when we eventually landed due to me hardly touching what they offered.

Normally on a flight like this you could expect a meal within an hour or two of take off and then something an hour or two before you land. Most good airlines these days offer snacks in between times often laid out in the galley for all comers. I don't know specifically about Air New Zealand. Why not call or e-mail them.

The one and only
I would say approx about 2 hours into the flight. They like to serve drinks first and prepare who shoud and shouldn't be having meals. :-)
I dont care how long they take to serve them because flight meal are ergh! lol

You could eat before hand but usually with long distance flights they give you a lot of food!
I think that with such a long flight you will be given food at least 3 times, and it is usually about an hour before they serve the first meal

they will serve at around an hour and a half to two hours.. because your on a long flight you normally get some more refreshments furthur into the flight.

they wont leave serving too late because people will want to sleep at that time..

They generally start about 1 hour after departure, on a long haul like yours it can be 1.5hours. I have noticed recently they appear to be starting earlier on the night flights (like yours) so they can everybody bedded down early!

I wouldn't eat before hand.Have your tea at tea time like you would normally.
They will serve you a meal about 1 hr into the flight I should imagine. They will also serve you breakfast.
Have a lovely time where ever you go.

i think that they will serve 45mins into the flight. you wil get refreshments first like water and juice and then dinner. if you're still hungry, you can ask for some more food. don't worry, i did. on your flight they should give breakfast early in the morning (local time, not departutring local time).
