I've done that. Never had a problem.
I don't see food prohibited by TSA |

I've never been able to even take coffee thru security. Even if I bought it at the airport. Since 9/11 anyway! |

You can take food on to a plane and eat it in flight. But it depends where you are landing and there agriculteral policies . always declare it and you won't be in trouble they would take it off you if you where not allowed it. |

if you take it as hand baggage you lose it at security. if you take as checked baggage you lose it at customs if you eat if first you will be ok. a lot of countries dont allow fresh or cooked foods to be imported at any time. and even fresh fruit will get you a fine so I dont think it is good idea. internal flights are ok no restrictions at all but on international flights you have a problem. |

I've never had them take food from me, just liquids. I always travel with a sandwich and couple granola bars. I got through security fine with both back in November, flew from Boise to Boston, and home from Philedelphia. I flew from Sacramento to Atlanta with an international destination back in September and my backpack was full of food items, all purchased outside the airport. You can't have bottles of water or juice or soda or anything, unless you buy it beyond the security check point, they will also take semi-liquid items like yogurt. |

As Long As She Puts the Food In Small On Contains its fine or you can just FedEx it. |

you can take it on board
the only problem will be if you are going to another country, some countries you can not enter with food
if you are flying within your own country there is no problem at all |

you cannot have it with you as carry on luggage,
however, if you put it into your checked luggage, you can bring it.
so pack it into a bag you are checking in, and it should be fine, make sure it's sealed so it doesn't spill. |

I think she's gonna have a hard time getting it through security. It might depend on what it is. If it's "bread-like" it might be worth a shot.
If it's a stew, forget it, don't even try. The x-ray machine can spot liquids and anything over 3.2 fluid ounces will get flagged. For reference, 2 weeks ago, my tube of toothpaste got confiscated for being 4.8 fluid ouces.
The other option you have is to put the food into checked luggage. You can pretty much put whatever you want into checked luggage. I'm pretty sure you'd be able to bring a stew if you put it in checked luggage. Just pack it very, very, very well. Assume they will toss it around and stack other bags on top of yours. |

Usually the planes let you carry food you buy in the airport in restraunts and stores, for safety reasons Im guessing. If she isnt convinced have her contact the airlines and ask them in the phone. http://www.geocities.com/Thavery2000/ |

Alexis is dead on the money,
Put in in a large bag and check it at the counter.
(give your bag to the ticket people at the front of the airport. They will put it in the belly of the plane for you. You pick it up off a conveyor belt at your destination)
If you still don't want to take it on a plane, you can ship overnight it at the post office. Just make sure it is handled as a fragile item. |

do not take it as carry-on luggage, TSA will confiscate. Pack it in the checked luggage. |

No I doubt you can. You can barely bring your baby a bottle if it's not under a certain amount. You can call your airline and ask...but my answer is no you can't (sorry) |
