Well at the exits (over the wings) has always been my choice i get more leg room & i've heard it's safest place to sit as well.

The safest place according to the experts is in the middle as near as possible to an emergency exit, As to noise level different models will vary according to design.

Personally I would sit next to the pilot and then if he starts to panic, I could too!

I always ask seats at the back if in economy. Most airlines start filling seats up from the front so if it is a quiet flight, I will have plenty of space at the back. If it is full flight, I am no worse off than sitting at the front (although the galley and toilets are nearby so I can always get myself a drink and a pee as needed).

I always try to sit near the front, I don't know why but i feel safer here and the back of the plane is noisier

It depends on what type of plane you are in but in my case first class seating is the best and it also depends on what airline you are on but if you are talking economy class or premier economy i would decide you sit in the middle aisle , front, middle seat of the middle aisle if you don't want to be close to the jets and if you want your own personal In-Flight entertainment system, and if you want more leg room and a better good night sleep. If you do have urine problems and have to go pee most of the time i recommend you sit at the back on any aisle of your choice but on the seats on any side.

In general, I found that sitting in front or not farther back than the wings was better. Also, for long flights when I could sleep, I preferred window seats since then I would no be bothered by fellow passengers going to the toilets. For short trips, aisle seats. The worst are centre, specially if your row companions are overweight or with bad hygiene. Noise is not that important since the cabin is insulated.

It really depends upon the airline. I once flew from Malaysia to Prague via Amsterdam, business class. Ist stage, upstairs in the bubble of a B747 (Malaysian Airlines) quiet and wonderful, next morning in Amsterdam, transferred to a KLM 737, also biz class. Sat next to a man who was so fat he needed to book 2 seats, he was on the last connecting stage to Prague also, his body invaded my sitting area to the point where it was almost impossible to drink my coffee, the plane was noisy and the business class seats were no different to anywhere else on the plane. But my advice is to sit near the front or as far forward as possible, but only if it's not KLM.

A few times I got a seat at the emergency exits.Loads of leg room and if anything does go wrong you will be the first one out.

Today's jets are really quiet...Luckily, the whole seating accommodation is near the engines (!) and so is doesn't matter where you sit.. Have a great trip!

I have family and friends who think the left front seat is best, but if you're talking commercial air travel, the airlines are picky about the kind of ticket you have if you're driving. I don't, so I try to sit just forward of the wings.

Depends...if you want to get out fast after landing, then the front of the plane. If you like to people watch and are not in a hurry after landing, then the back can be fun. I usually sit somewhere between the middle and back. Over the wings can block your view if you have a window seat.

towars the back of the plane is very loud. i wouldnt suggest the very very front but sorta in the middle is good. over the wings is what i usually pick and if you want more leg room, go for an exit row seat

buisness class. you get everything. champagne, tonnes of leg room, massive chairs and you're not stuck next to someone you don't want to sit with.i.e. someone fat who takes up half of your seat as well. and u get to look like someone famous. they all travel in that way. genius.

Generally, sitting behind the jet engines is more noisy than sitting in front of them, and if you want some extra leg room, ask for an exit row seat. In an exit row seat, you can also easily get up to use the restroom since there are no seats directly in front of you.
