If the airports you want to go to have southwest in them, use southwest.com and their online purchasing. Travel agents and travel sites will go above their costs to make a small profit. So go there and see if you can purchase direct. If not, I recommend travelosity. But most airline sites will give you better rates if you go direct.

Only once did I find a better price on Yahoo! Travel.

Try changing dates and times to find a better price. Their are flexible date options as well.

Generally you can save 10-30% leaveing and returning on a Tueday, Wednesday, or Thursday
instead of Monday Friday or the Weekend.

Try FareChase, they search dozens of websites for you, so you dont have to!!! It saves time and money!
Or type "flights from Texas to Germany" in Yahoo's search, and fill the search form that comes up above the results.
You might want to be more specfic and try "flights from houston to berlin" or "flights from dallas to frankfurt" etc.

Try cheaptickets.com ) They should be able to come up with "something" you can afford. But remember, whatever airline
you decide to use, the further in advance that you book your flight, the cheaper it will be, okay? Good luck.

I prefer sidestep.com. They use a search engine that searchs most travel websites, including expedia and the likes, and airlines that don't show up on expedia and the likes (like DBA, SW, and many more).
