Where can I get the cheapest airline tickets?

I would highly recommend both hotwire and priceline, with cheaptickets comping in a close third. I've searched around for airfare quite a bit, and these three sites usually ring true as the cheapest. Other than that, I'd go to sites like igougo.com, travelzoo.com, or bookingbuddy.com. These sites offer searches of multiple online airfare websites, making it easier and less time consuming to compare prices. As for when to buy, I usually go to farecast.com. They pretty accurately predict when a good time to buy a flight would be based off of past and current trends, etc. It's pretty useful. Another site I've found handy is rightflight.org. They did a bunch of research on the various airfare sites to see which sites are usually the cheapest. They also have a list of most of the airfare sites on their webpage, which can be pretty handy in and of itself. Hope this helped!

There are a number of places to look. The airline websites sometimes have sales the travel websites don't have.

I have found that http://www.expedia.com has ticket prices a little lower than the other travel websites.

Also http://www.airfarewatchdog.com will have some specials that you can take advantage of. Just type in the city you are flying from and it will give you a list of cities and the prices.

Don't forget to check out alternative airports close to where you live. Sometimes the alternative airports have cheaper airfare. For example here in Cincinnati, airfare is really expensive. Therefore we look at ticket prices if flying from Indianapolis, Dayton and Columbus. The ticket prices flying out of those cities can be hundreds of dollars cheaper.

http://www.sidestep.com searches and compares prices from a whole host of airlines and other travel sites. So if there is a cheap price, you can find it here.

I would recommend checking out BookMe.com... You can compare all the major travel websites in 60 seconds, and only search for the ones you want. Keep checking, and eventually you find a GREAT deal! And they only search reputable/reliable sites, so you won't need to worry about anything.
