Use www.kayak.com or www.mobissimo.com. These two websites should cover almost everything.

Finally try www.southwest.com. Tickets to Durham, NC are about $134 on southwest but its about 200 miles away from your destination. If you have no issues with time and inconvenience and really want to save the $205 per person, you could take this option and rent a car to get to your destination.

Their are many cheap airlines. One of them is AirTran, it is a low cost airline with XM radio.

I would look up flights to cities surrounding Ashville as well such as Spartanburg, SC and Winston-Salem. Sometimes airlines have specials to certain cities. Also see if http://www.airfarewatchdog.com has anything. If you are looking to travel on Dec. 31, it will be hard to find tickets that are cheap. Ticket prices go up if you do not purchase them before 14 days prior to departure date.

Hi Candace,

Using CheapOAir.com I found a flight with United Airlines flight 5883 with 2 stops for $302.00. The first leg is Birmingham to Chicago. The second leg is Chicago to Charlotte. The last leg is Charlotte to Asheville. Total trip time including connections at airports is 16 hours 3 minutes.

Or you could head over to Priceline.com and select Name Your Price and bid on the price that you are looking for.With a bit of luck you may get an even cheaper deal.

Try Priceline.com, I used it a while back and flew from Chicago to Los Angeles for only $400 round trip. The only problem is that you don't get to choose your departure and return time (time as not date). They will choose the time you leave but they will let you have the day you want to leave and return on. But if Priceline doesn't get you want you want you can always try calling the airline you want to fly on directly. Most of the time they will have prices for seats that aren't advertised or given on travel search engines.

do you know someone with a car. for that money you could pay them gas food and lodging. it is best to get a flight 2 weeks to a month ahead of time.

I have found the cheapest flight to Florida From Connecticut by going on Cheap Air.com. Believe me, they will find you the cheapest flights available. Cheap Air is not an airline, they are an organization that finds the cheapest flight on a reputable airline. Good Luck!! There are other organizatins such as Travelocity, Cheap Tickets, etc.; but cheap air was the least expensive one that I found and believe mel, I have searched all of these organizations. I am sure that you will find that this is true.
