Still, I recommend carefully looking up all available resources, including travel agents. That practice will get you the lowest possible fare for you every time!

do the 'name your own price' thing to get the cheapest fares - you can bid up to 40% below the going rate i think. i've used them a couple times, the only downside is that you don't get to choose what times you leave/arrive, you have to be open to a range of times. |

I know you say that you need to leave on Dec 30 but is there any way you could leave the next day?
Tickets leaving on New Years Eve are often very cheap as nobody wants to fly then and due to the pricing structure there are therefore more cheaper levelled tickets available. Flights on Dec 30 are often quite expensive as people who want to go on holiday or visit family for new years eve travel the day before. Not to mention the fact that people who have gone home for christmas but then want to go somewhere else for NYE also travel on 30th.
Avoid 30 December to travel if you can. |

The best place to find travel deals is on your your own travel site because it will pay you commissions, bonuses, give you tax deductions and travel perks.
If you, your family and friends are going to travel then why not have your own travel website, travel wholesale (not retail) and get paid doing it.
If you were to book on any of the travel sites or airlines mentioned in the other answers, how much money will you make?
The local travel agents, travel websites and airlines and their stock holders are getting rich off of your hard earned money. Are you going to let them do this to you?
Did you realize that when you book with a local travel agent, online with an over advertised website or airline, you are being their unpaid travel agent.
If you, your family and friends are going to travel then why not have your own travel website, travel wholesale (not retail) and get paid doing it.
It not only makes common sense, it makes financial sense. While a vacation is nice, a paycation is even better.
