The places/websites with the best deals are constantly changing, as airfare prices constantly fluctuate. Try kayak.com (which also allows you to check expedia, priceline and orbitz all at the same time). Get some ideas on prices through that, and then check those prices against the actual airline websites. Sometimes, it's cheaper to book through the airline since you are avoiding paying the "monkey in the middle." If your dates are flexible, put that into your search. Also, if you are flying into/out of an airport that has other airports close by, search surrounding airports. More often than not, it's cheaper to fly out of the bigger airports.

There is just no one place to always get the best deals. Every travel site uses the same vendors, but the only difference is their contracts vary from site to site - which means so do the prices! Think of ALL these travel sites as grocery stores, they all sell the same thing - the only difference is going to be their prices - and as we all know grocery prices change from week to week. Therefore, you will never find a travel site that ALWAYS has the best deals; the prices will change all the time - so shop around and compare prices! You want the cheapest tickets? Check the net to get some feel and then you actually call the airlines. 8 times out of 10 it will be cheaper.
Sign up online for whatever frequent flyer card and they will usually offer you a deal. Not a credit card and all you need is your member #.
Play with your dates coming and going. One day either way can save $2000. |
