Where is the cheapest place to fly to in the US from England?

Hi, I know how you feel, my wife of 8 years lives in Boston, USA, luckily, about the closest airport to the UK! New York is usually the cheapest place to go to from here.
You'd have to out way the cost of a flight to New York and then ground transport to San Antonio, against the cost of a flight to your girlfriends nearest airport. Unless she can travel to meet you in New York and you spend your time together there.
Also if you plan to visit her ofter which ever airline you fly with join their frequent flyer club, after a few flights with the same airline, you can save loads on a ticket. I use Virgin atlantic and now save Â£50 a flight after saving their flyer miles.

Have a lovely visit with your girlfriend. I know how heart braking it is to be that far away from each other, done it for 8 years now. :-(

I don't know if it would be the cheapest but I would say the London to New York City route is highly competitive. You might want to try that route first. But airline ticket prices are constantly changing and airlines sometimes will have promotions so there may be a special fare to one city in the US. You just need to be checking the ticket prices every so often.

I would say that, because of the sheer number of flights, New York (JFK or Newark NJ) is your best option.

Go to www.expedia.co.uk or www.cheapflights.co.uk and look for flights at times that businessmen don't want to use.

Last October I managed to book a week's trip to New York, staying in the Ramamda hotel in Jersey City, for Â£279 pp. I am going again in three weeks' time, and despite the drop in Â£ v $, it's still only costing Â£360 pp, and this time I am using Newark, much closer to the hotel than JFK.

The USA is huge, to get to where you want to get to from a cheap flight from Manchester to NY could cost more than a direct flight from Gatwick.

There are loads of sites where you can get them to check rates for you. No one on here can quote you cheaper than that.

Id say that an international airport close to the east coast would be good, so KBOS (Logan International Airport) or Boston, Mass. I flew from Boston to Schiphol in Netherlands, to Charles de Gaulle in Paris, and that was really cheap, im going to Heathrow this july.
