Where is the quietest place to sit on a jet aircraft (737)?

The quietest place on an jet aircraft is towards the front of the aircraft. Which usually means in front of the wings. The farther back you go, the louder it will become as most planes have the engines on the wings and some have one on the tail section.

One more benefit to sitting towards the front is you will sometimes have a little more legroom. This is why many airlines sometimes hold the seats towards the front of the plane for their elite passengers. So move to the front. And I am speaking of the front of coach and beyond.

the quietest place to sit on a jet aircraft (737) is in your mind surge into the planetary moments of your mind and capture the key of silence and there you shall also find you have arrived.

between the two air hostesses.

Exit row window - lots of leg room and person in front of you can't recline! You can rest your head against the bulkhead to nap. I do it all the time - but I prefer 757 over 737 (rudder problems you know). Also the wings block noise from engines.

Never near the emergency exit. Maybe in the toilet with your discman plugged in.

Depends what engines the airplane has. Also A regular 737, usually sitting on top of the wings braces{middle Undercarriage} is quiet.

The real answer is in the cockpit with the pilots, which I have had the pleasure of experiencing many times through my company. But, as a paying customer the quietest seat you could get is on the first row directly in the center. (The further you are from the engines, the quieter it is.)
