Regarding quality of service my suggestions are Singapore Airlines, Emirates and Lufthansa. Since you don't specific route you should always consider which type of aircraft services the route.
For example. If one company uses outdated 747-400 and other use 777-300ER second one is much better selection. Generally speaking, with newer airplane you'll receive much better, safer and more comfortable service. |

You imply that you want a safe airline in your question by stating airlines as examples, but you ask what is a safe 'plane', not airline.
Anyway, all 'planes' are safe.
I like to fly Emirates, but some like others. |

It really depends where your destination is. If you go to Europe, Swiss is good, comfortable, and good service. If you go to Asia, Singapore Airline have been rated the #1 airline for their service for a couple of years in a row. For the Middle East, I only have only flown with Qatar Airways. They are still rare one that offers more than one meal on board during a long flight. |
