I have flown with both on 8 hour flights and BA is better.

I have flown with both and find that Virgin are much better. The cabin crew are nicer and much more helpful than BA. BA seem to rest on their laurels a bit.

Brittish by far, im a travel professional and i would rather have clients spend more money to fly brittish then anyother.

I'd choose Virgin. Premium Economy is good, if you can afford it. However, whichever airline I used, I'd try to avoid Heathrow.

British airways is in the top three in the world! Google it!

I'd say British Airways, they're more professional and have better service and aren't in as much financial trouble, don't have nearly as many delays as Virgin airlines.

Ive never flown BA long haul but Virgin to USA economy were great.

I've flown both and believe Virgin to be better. BA make you feel as if you should be grateful you are allowed to fly with them.

I have used BA a lot, and it is OK, but as you mention Virgin, I assume you are going trans-Atlantic.
Take your own sandwiches !

The best one that suprised me a bit was Air India from Heathrow to JFK.
Amazing service, hospitality, smooth flight etc.

I used to travel about a bit, and BA never impressed me.

I wouldn't say avoid them, but ther are many better alternatives about.

Gulf, Lufthansa, even The Doris Barnstormer bi-plane might be better than some BA flights I have endured !

Check around for an alternative.

British Airways no doubt. Now im not say that Virgin isn't a good airline but in my opinion British Airways is the best airline in the world.
