In general, when flying international, don't an united states carrier. Go with an asian or european carrier (i.e. KLM, British airway etc....) |

i personly loved singapore airlines. best service, food not bad and the toilets are always clean. personal tvs great with 50+ movies, heaps of tv shows, games, a little comentry film of your destination, and even a flight map showing where you are at all times. check out their website here www.singaporeair.com |

Nowdays most international carriers have the TVs on the seatback.
I second what another said. Skip ALL of the US carriers even if it costs a tad more.... and if you shop around it will usually cost less. Service (at every step), food, amenities and everything are always better on a foriegn airline. ALWAYS.
And yea, Lufthansa rocks for a long haul. |

We've flew Qantas several times, and it's the best carrier for trans-pacific flights. Tvs, awesome food, goody bags no matter where your seat is.
We've flown NW, Continental, KLM and United on trans-atlantic flights. KLM and Continental are the best of the four. Not sure if they have tvs the seats now... they didn't when we flew. Check their websites to see what kind of plane is assigned to that route, and what amenities they offer travelers. |

Lufthansa! When my husband and I went to Greece this year, we were impressed by the cleanliness, great service and terrific food that the airline offered. We didn't even know we were flying - it was that smooth. |

Qantas and Singapore air are the best airlines for long haul. I dont think you can get a flight on either of these for your route though.
KLM perhaps |

I loved my flight on Korean Air to Seoul. The service level from start to finish was beyond anything I have ever experienced with a U.S. carrier, even in first class! |

Personally my preferred airline is British Airways, it just feels safest and the staff seem the most under control, mature and knowledgeable.
I hate seeing really young Flight Attendants such as 20 year olds. I once flew australia to Vienna on Lauda Air, I swear none of those girls were over 20, I did not have any faith in them. I thought if this plane crashes, instead of helping passengers they'll be grabbing their makeup purse, and trying in vain to fix their hair.
Go for tried and tested mature reliable British Airways. their planes are well maintained too, as they invest heavily to do preventative maintenance.
If BA is unavailable on your route, then I would choose virgin atlantic, again its the reliable Brits! KLM is also highly regarded. |
