I'm not aware that any of the airlines differ that dramatically in the size of their seats, but some are more accommodating than others when it comes to changing your seating.

In my experience, Continental is the most easygoing airline when it comes to seating at bulkheads and emergency exit rows (both of which will give you extra legroom). All airlines will seat you on these rows . . . for a price (usually around $40). Continental charges for these 'premium' seats too; but if you are especially tall or might have difficulty fitting into a regular seat, there's a good chance they will assign you to one gratis if you explain your situation.

Good luck and happy travels!

Whichever airline you go with, I would say get a first class seat. Definitely worth the money on long flights!

EVA air has premium economy class out of Taiwan, arriving in Newark. From Newark to Providence is a short flight, Continental is fine. EVA and Continental are codeshare partners.

Any, if you want to fly first class at triple the cost of a tourist seat. Sorry, it's all about money. You will not enjoy a tourist seat. I did'nt, and I'm slender.

There is definately no non-stop service between Providence and Taiwan, so you are forced to connect through a city (and possibly change airlines). I reccomend that you do a few things to maximize your savings and your enjoyment. If you can, stick it out (your entire trip) with one airline or if not, then keep your flights within one airline alliance (StarAlliance, One World or SkyTeam) in order to be able to hold onto your frequent flier miles.

Here are your options (and note that no matter what you are going to have to connect through to Providence on a local - U.S. - carrier).

Of One World Alliance:

Japan Airlines (JAL) - Connect from Taipei to Tokyo to Chicago. Then use American Airlines on the flight from Chicago to Providence. Try to upgrade to premium economy on JAL and on the American Airlines flights you can get preety comfortable seats - look at the seat maps...

Cathay Pacific - connect from Taipei to Hong Kong, Hong Kong to Chicago and then see the same as above.

SkyTeam:

Northwest - Fly from Taipei to Mineappolis (MSP) and then connect onto their flights to Providence.

KLM - Fly to Amsterdam then to either Detroit (DTW) or to Mineappolis (MSP) and connect through to Providence.

Some things to note :

- Unless you are going to be travelling in forst class, try to upgade to "economy plus" which is offered by some airlines which allow you to get more legroom and more amenities.

- If you choose one of the above, look into getting into the airlines' frequent flyer program so that you may be able to upgrade or earn miles for a later date.

- The airport code for Providence in PVD.

- There were many other options for flights but for the most part the traffic into PVD is going to be on smaller aircraft. I mean, only NW allows you to fly on a "mainline" aircraft without flying on a 'reigonal jet'. On the American Airlines flight, the flight is an "reigonal jet' but if you bok early you can snag one of the seats that are very comfortable, as the seats are: 1 - aisle - 2, so that you can get one of the widow seats to yourself.

- BTW, take a look at http://www.seatguru.com for more seating info.

the Cach seats are small, first class cabin has big seats. It is like coach has 3 seats per rows and fist class has 2 seats per row. and American Ailrines.

First class is the way to go, if you want to spend over $5000. For best comfort, go with Singapore Airlines. Even in economy class, they still offer great service and decent seats in economy. Another thing you may want to check into is flying United Airlines, in economy plus. Economy plus is still economy, but offers you extra legroom, and it really isn't a whole lot more expensive than regular economy class. British Airways has World Traveller Plus, which is basically the same thing. For more info go to www.airlinequality.com for reviews on almost any airline.
