Always go with the Far Eastern airlines - the service is much better. For this route, I would suggest Thai Air or, if you're willing to spend a little more, Eva Air do a very good price on their premium economy seats, which will give extra legroom. Both airlines fly directly to Bangkok.

Go with Etihad they are the national airline of the UAE and I tell ya economy is like business class! They even give you a menu card for lunch and dinner! x

Make sure you get a direct flight!! I would choose their national airline.

Any airline except British Airways, patronising trolley staff, poor food, delays and luggage more likely to go missing than any other airline.
If you fly the national airline of another country your holiday starts when you get on the plane! If you go BA you've got more hours to spend in the UK with UK manners before you can relax.

Thai airlines or Air Malaysia
I do not recommend Qantas. They are inpersonal, very little leg room and crap food.

Etihad, Thai or Qantas. However Qanta and Etihad depends on which crew you have as the attitude depend from crew to crew and it usually depends on the purser on how she/he treats their crew to start with! Thai are always polite. I NEVER fly BA as I have had too many bad crew experiences.
