While the closest airport with commercial airline service to Disneyland is John Wayne Airport, 13.5 miles away at the junction of Santa Ana, Costa Mesa and Irvine, there are other airports that are not much further. The important thing to remember is that the choice of airport will dictate how expensive your airline ticket will be. Airfares to/from John Wayne Airport are generally more expensive than those to/from Long Beach Airport, 19.5 miles from Disneyland, Ontario Airport, 33 miles from Disneyland, or even Los Angeles International (LAX), 35 miles from the park. When reckoning distances in California, remember that anything within 50 miles is considered relatively close. And if you're on a budget, do check which of these airports has the better airfare and the better driving conditions to/from the park on the day you plan to be in town. |
