Technically landing is the most difficult part of the flight. During take off, the airplane flies at almost full power whereas during the final approach, the airplane flies with a very small amount of power thus the airplane is more vulnarabale to external forces such as storms or winds etc...

Most flights are allowed to take off in fog or snow storms but landings are not allowed when visibility is low.

We had a +3 -8 rule. We had to concetrate during the first 3 and last 8 minutes of the flight and prepare ourselves for an emergency landing. Statistically, most crashes occur during theese periods, most of them during landing...

Both are quite enjoyable. Those last minutes before landing can be the most scenic, and the takeoff is often my favorite part of the flight -- feeling the energy, sounds, and thrust of the powerful engines, and the acceleration. For best enjoyment of both, you need to get a window seat ahead of, or well behind, the wing.

I guess I'm more nervous during takeoff, but I love it once I'm up there!

Landing with cross winds. That can be scary.

They are both a lot of fun actually, neither one is bad.

I like takeoffs better than landings. I have been through some very rough landings and some that are so smooth you would have thought the plane had not landed.

I am always more nervouse during landing. Take off is fun, they just press the gas and zoom off you go. But for the landing it seems like a lot of things need to happen at the same time, and the bouncing of the plane when the wheels hit the ground scares me a bit. Once I could feel one wheel hit the ground a few seconds before the other one did!

Landing.
Taking off is an exhilirating experience for me and I'm so excited to see everything. I'm preoccupied with looking out the window to be to worried about anything.
Landing! however, it's like.. been there done that. I've already been on the plane for hours so I'm exhausted. And I'm worried about like the plane crashing or something like that and the thoughts of not being able to arrive safely get to me.
lol

very few planes crash in the air---and a bad landing is called a crash-----so landing has the greater opportunities to be bad.

the landings always scare me....

oldcorps1947
Safety wise take off is the most dangerous, the plane is full of fuel and may have undergone maintenance(not yet flight tested).

i like both! ...but take off is better, if youre scared of flying you probably wont like the landing

Landing is worse for me.
weather is one of reason but captain is main point. Experiences is better than anything.

Prettyinpink
what r u talking bout? those are the most exciting parts! the planes gets all fast and the engines are like rrrrrrrrrrrr and then you go off and then landing is fun too. Lol i absolutely love flying a plane (i dont know how to fly one, im too young, lol)!

1+1=2
I would have to say landing. Most take offs are smooth, but the landings can be slippery, bumpy, and downright scary with the wrong weather conditions and/or pilot.
