Which items are not allowed for a carry-on luggage when flying? (don't really know what's considered liquid) |
-Mascara
-Deodorant
-Chapstick
-Pens
-Contact solution (this may be dumb, but I assume that's out of the question)
-Lip gloss
-Tooth paste
that's all I think of.
I'm flying in only for a day.
If there's any other like personal items that I'm not thinking of that can be allowed, let me know.
thanks. |

all that stuff is allowed - so long as its 3fl oz or less.
so the tooth paste might say 6oz on the bottle and you have a squeeze left.
it still SAYS CAPACITY of 6oz, they will toss it. |

Any of the items you mentioned can be brought in a carry on bag. They will all have to fit into 1 quart size zip lock, and must be 3oz. or less. The only item you listed that does not need to be put into the baggy is the pens. Also, be sure this baggy is somewhere in your bag where you can access it easily. When you go through security, you will have to take the baggy of liquid items out of your carry on bag for screening. Have a good trip! |

Mascara~ Liquid
Deodorant~ Liquid if it is a gel or roll on
Chapstick~Not a liquid
Pens~Not a liquid
Contact lens solution~Liquid
Lip Gloss~Liquid, however lipstick is not as long as it's in the traditional twist up tube
Toothpaste~Liquid
Basically all liquids must be in containers that are 3 ounces/100ml or less and must be able to fit into one 1 quart zip top bag. This bag needs to be removed from your carryon when you go through security.

Ethansma is correct. All are allowed, and the only thing that needs to be under 3 oz. is the contact lens solution. Put the other "gel-like" items--lip gloss, deodorant and toothpaste--in the bag as well.
And do look at the tsa website mentioned above for full information. |

usually you can take liquids as long as there like 3 oz or less.
you can get the right size bottles from like walmart and just put you liquids in the bottles. they make them just for plane travel. i've never really had a problem with mascara, chapstick, or lipgloss. But my sister brought like a makeup case full of makeup and they threw like half of it aways, so i think just dont have alot. you might wanna get travel size deoderant cause they throw the bigger ones away. same thing for deoderant. i think pens are ok...i've never had a problem with them. anyways most stuff is fine as long as you get travel size. so good luck :) |

Since announcing what's allowed in passenger cabins, the TSA has clarified some of its policies.
Liquids or gels not allowed in passenger cabins:
_Beverages
_Shampoo
_Suntan lotion
_Creams
_Toothpaste
_Hair gel
The TSA permits:
_Baby formula, which must be presented for inspection at the checkpoint
_Prescription medicines that match the passenger's name
_Essential nonprescription medicines, such as insulin
_Electronic items such as laptops, CD players and iPods; British Airways flights to Britain do not allow them.
British Airways PLC, the largest carrier between Britain and the United States, offers these guidelines for carry-on items.
Allowed in the cabins:
_Pocket-size wallets and pocket-size purses, such as money, credit cards and identity cards
_Travel documents essential for the journey such as passports and tickets
_Prescription medicines and medical items sufficient and essential for the flight (for example, a diabetic kit), except in liquid form unless verified as authentic
_Spectacles and sunglasses, without cases
_Contact lens holders, without bottles of solution
_Female sanitary items sufficient and essential for the flight, if unboxed, including tampons, pads, towels and wipes
_Unboxed tissues and handkerchiefs
_Keys, but no electrical key fobs.
For those carrying an infant on a British Airways flight, the following are allowed:
_Baby food and milk, but the contents of each bottle must be tasted by the accompanying passenger
_Sanitary items sufficient and essential for the flight, such as diapers, wipes, creams and diaper disposal bags.
Not allowed:
_Handbags
_Cosmetics, including lipstick
_All electronic items
_Newspapers (British Airways has them on board for passengers) |
