Yea it's uncomfortable but think of the guy that has to sit in the middle!! that seat isn't any fun at all.... so yea since you have the perk of something to look at.. I think he should atleast be able to use the arm rest

I wish I knew! I just flew last weekend and I was in the aisle seat, and the person next to me hogged the armrest the entire time! It sucked, but I figured since he was stuck between two people it was only fair to allow him to use it.

i think you should share it because technically he has less room then you (who have the window to lean on) but he also is closer to the isle so it is easier for him to get up if he wants to stretch his arms....just ask him(or her) if they want it or not. they probably won't use it since you asked leaving you free for that armrest

There are actually 3 armrests even when there's a middle seat. Everyone is to take the armrest to the right.

Just saw this question on... The morning Show ..the person in the middle gets it unless they take their arm off then its yours reasoning is this the middle seat is the disadvantaged seat so it goes to them first

Sometimes the armset remains unused, because both (me and the other guy) are afraid of using it. If you take it first it would be yours, otherwise you can ask the other guy if he don't mind if you use it.

Due to the inconvenience of sitting in the middle, i would say it's fair to give that person both arm rests, because you automatically get one and have more perks than that person does.
