I used to love flying on planes. Then a combination of getting older and all the increased hassles and high security, and being mauled with searches-made to feel like a criminal about to enter prison, limitations of carry on, etc. etc. has made flying a negative experience, so I now cringe with resistance and trepidation about the whole ordeal of it. What was once a simple pleasure has become very unappealing.

Having had a go at parachuting, I have no fear of flying in aircraft. It's flying without one which makes me a bit nervous.

I actually just took off on my first flight 2 months ago and was terrified!!!! We took 4 flights. Two going and two coming. The connection flight was much smaller and you would think that would be worse but the smaller was actually better. The bigger plane had much more turbulance. The way I got through being terrified throughout the turbulance is just having my experienced flyer friends help me out through it. That really helps. Plus the movie is also very helpful. I'm not really scared anymore. The only part that is remotely scary is takeoff and a little at landing. Once your are at a 180 degree angle in the air. It's perfectly fine.

I used to love to fly then the more i went on airplanes the more the fear of flying has become. Everytime am on an airplane I start thinking of all the movies that were made about plane crashes !! now i dread flying so i try not to sleep a day before :)

I am not scared to fly on the big planes. I just find it boring sitting in a confined place for a long period of time.

On the other hand I do fly small planes for a living and if I am teaching a student I can sometimes get frightened if a student does something scarey without me expecting it! So if you are learning to fly please make sure you listen to your instructor cause I don't like getting scared!
