Because they know when people are hungry and have no choices they'll pay anything. That's why I try to eat before I leave and bring my own snacks. And if I do eat at the airport I choose a sit down restaurant, the prices are usually average restaurant price and much cheaper than fast food. |

Then don't buy it. Bring your own food! Contrary to what a few ignorant posters above said, you CAN take food past security and onto the flight. Just not liquids. |

Their rents are high and they have a captive audience. Some of the McDonald's offer better values, but bc of the higher rent might not have $1 items. You can save some $ by buying packaged foods like chips and candy instead of hot food.
Whoa, tough crowd. I gave a thoughtful answer and got a thumbs down. When I said McDonalds, I was referring to a McDonalds in the airport (some airports have them). If you just wanted to complain, then I guess you aren't really looking for an explanation or any suggestions. Oh well, no good deed goes unpunished. |
