The planes are falling apart. Like when you should have your car checked every 3000 miles. Airplanes need to be checked also, but they just found out some of the companies have been slackin!!

Do you want to take off in a plane if it is having total system failure?

I'd rather take the delay, unless I mysteriously sprouted wings.

Confused women
They can have delays because of a lot of reasons.
1. Weather
2. The plane ride right before you got on was delayed.
3. Air traffic
4. etc.

American Airlines is almost in backrupcy...
they have very low budget for the flights
lack of personnel

caused by multiple factors like weather or maintenance problems

mobilemark
well there are several reasons for flight delays
one in some area (like JFK, Washington DC) they have some called flow control (perhpas due to weather) so before a flight
can leave its departure aiport FAA makes sure tehy can fit
that flight into the control space as its a lot better for them
to delay the depature from the orignal airport
then to have to put teh airplane in a holding patten which
waste fuel
sometimes its mantaince related
some time its crew related (most crews can only fly for so many hours)

butterfliesRfree
has something to do with wire bundles in the planes and they are like - for instance, one inch apart as opposed to two inches (I don't have the inches right here exactly - just a for instance) ---- it's kind of stupid really.

Chrys
weather and they keep taking planes out of flight status...they're OVERDUE for checking safety measures that were put in place a couple of yrs ago...and instead of doing it THEN, they're screwing the whole US, by doing it NOW.

There are flight delays just so people don't get killed or planes don't crash or anything like that. Usually happens when the wheather is really bad.

Alex A
Either because the plane is low on food or fuel, or there is bad weather where you are or at your destination.

CuddleBug
You mean the current ones?

They say mechanical problems, but I think its money problems
