Why did bbc news say heathrow was the worlds busiest international airport yesterday when it isn't?

No, it's still the busiest in terms of passenger numbers (and flights I think) but isn't the biggest

Heathrow is the busiest International Airport due to the amount of international flights it takes. Others are busier though because Heathrow does not do as many domestic flights as say JFK. It can be confusing because it is only working on International flights as Heathrow does not take many domestic flights, hence why it is the busiest "International Airport".

I saw a news article on BBC America where they were complaining about the slowness of capital infrastructure improvements as well as the new Spanish management group holding meetings in Madrid rather than London. All through the article it was implied that it was indeed the busiest airport, so I simply assumed that they'd checked their facts on that.

Do you know what the other airports are that would top it?

Not sure of its current status, but you need to distinguish between "Busiest" and "Busiest International" airport because it is as an international airport it gains it's status. There are busier airports in the states but a lot of the flights are domestic.

It is the busiest in terms of the number of international flights (and therefore presumably number of international passengers) passing through the airport.

It's a parochial thing, Locals always want theirs to be the biggest, fastest, longest or so on and so forth. It's also sloppy research could be to blame.

Well, it's very busy but I would say not so busy like Milan(Italian airport).

Gatwick is( far more better and one of the best!) then Heathrow and that so called" London City airport" is the worst of them all.

Cause they are filthy liars, don't believe everything in the news or such the like, you how can you trust anything or anybody nowdays.
