losing money due to the price of fuel

Many are struggling but the fuel costs may have been the final straw

The rising gas prices are affecting airlines just as much as they are affecting us. Think about how much it costs to fill up your car, now think about how much more it would cost to fill up a plane. Skybus in particular was really inexpensive, and they could not continue to stay in business.

3 airlines so far this week. Aloha airline being the first. These are low budget airlines and with the rising cost of fuel it has become the death of them. Also, with the economy being so bad now (recession) more and more people are finding either alternate way of traveling or not traveling at all.

Fuel and poor management. But the CEO of each will continue to live like a king.

The price of oil went up too much. And many banks don't want to lend any more money to other businesses.

There are many reasons for the airlines going out of business. But the main reason for today is fuel prices going high then they can afford. The airlines can't just jack up their fares. So in return they keep on taking the loss until the money runs out of the bank. The only one's in the business are the one's that kept by government.

our economy is bad, people are traveling less. Plus cost of fuel has gone up so much!!

Two reasons: Fuel and up keep on the planes. The A380 is now saving the airlines that can afford them tons of cash.
